The Fearless Pursuit Of Freedom Podcast

Jul 21, 2018

Today's guest is very special and dear to my heart. I recently took a trip down to Peru to ride some motorcycles for a couple weeks. It turned out to be the most eye-opening, emotional experiences of my life. Paul Opp is the president of "The People Of Peru Project" a US 502(c)(3)Nonprofit Organization. Paul was a school teacher for some years, who eventually almost accidentally got into the logging business and ran a mill for a bit whilst owning a small car lot. In 2000 after a visit to Peru with his daughter, and a few heartbreaking circumstances later, including a story of a $350 story saving the life a mother, Paul decided to make it a mission of his to help as many people as he could down there. 4 years later, 2 adopted Peruvian children, he sold both businesses, both houses and made the move down to live the next 10 years in Iquitos, Peru full time to build the foundation. 18 years later from his first visit, they are now in the middle of building a surgery facility and have helped over 60k people. Listen in as we hear the story from his own words.
